DESCRIPTION:This online asbestos awareness course is designed to provide an\nintroduction into asbestos hazard and risk management. The course is\ndelivered online using an interactive learning portal. \n\nAsbestos awareness training is great for reducing the amount of harm\ncaused to those who may be exposed to asbestos-containing materials.\nThe first step to minimising the risks posed with working with or\naround asbestos is being asbestos aware. This means knowing what\nmaterials could potentially contain asbestos, what it is that makes\nasbestos hazardous to human health, and ways that you can work safely\nwith or around asbestos-containing materials without causing harm to\nyourself or those around you. \n\nThis online asbestos awareness course provides a great foundation\nlevel of knowledge for anyone undertaking work involving asbestos.\n\nThis course includes the following topics:\n\n 	* History and introduction to asbestos\n 	* Asbestos-related health effects\n 	* Common products containing asbestos\n 	* New Zealand Legislation and Regulations applicable to asbestos\nhandling and removal\n 	* Identification, assessment and control of asbestos in buildings\n 	* Safe working procedures including the correct wearing, maintenance\nand use of PPE/RPE\n 	* Decontamination procedures\n\n \n\nWhen you have worked through the online course materials you must sit\nan assessment to complete the course. The assessment is multiple\nchoice.
