Educational Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course students will:

• Have a clear understanding of the documentation required to carry out asbestos removal, including:
  • Asbestos Removal Control Plans (ARCP),
  • Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS),
  • Job Safety Analysis (JSA) ,and
  • other Health and Safety Risks associated with asbestos removal. 
     
• Understand consultation duties with the asbestos assessor and asbestos removalists.
   
• Have the skills required to prepare the work site and work area for the removal of asbestos.
   
• Understand the requirements of overseeing the asbestos removal and decontamination process. 
   
• Develop skills to supervise and support team members.

Requirements

Before booking this course ensure that those attending the course have completed either:

• Unit Standard 29767 Remove Non-Friable Asbestos (B Class) 
• Unit Standard 29766 Remove Friable Asbestos (A Class)

A high school level of literacy & numeracy skill is required to complete the written exams for this course.
